Technical Description
Eurosul’s Gangway Safety Net is manufactured from high-resistance polypropylene, a material proven effective for maritime applications due to its excellent balance of mechanical strength, lightweight, and durability in high-salinity and UV-exposed environments. The 150 x 150 mm mesh with a 10 mm rim rope and 8 mm mesh rope provides sufficient structural rigidity to retain a person in the event of a fall, while allowing water drainage and preventing load buildup on the net.
The use of safety nets on gangway ladders is required by SOLAS and the Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seafarers, and is inspected during Port State Control (PSC) inspections at ports worldwide. The absence or poor condition of the net may result in vessel detention. Eurosul supplies the product in multiple dimensions with a certificate of conformity and technical datasheet to meet the documentary requirements of inspections.
