Technical Description
The Entel DR482 represents a new generation of compact UHF repeaters designed to operate in critical environments with continuous communication demands. Its key differentiator is the integration of the AC power supply with an internal backup battery charger, eliminating the need for bulky external units and significantly simplifying installation in radio rooms, bridge wings, and offshore environments with limited space.
Mixed Mode operation allows the DR482 to automatically switch between DMR Digital and Analogue FM, ensuring compatibility with both legacy and modern radios within the same communication infrastructure. With a continuous 100% transmit duty cycle at 25W, the unit is designed for operations requiring permanent system availability without transmission time limitations.
Programming is carried out via a simple Windows application, enabling operators to perform firmware updates and configuration adjustments without returning the unit to the dealer. Available in two variants — DR482 (Digital/Analogue/Mixed mode) and DR482/A (Analogue only) — it meets different operational profiles with the same robustness and reliability that characterize the Entel range.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The DR482 supports DMR Digital Tier II, analogue FM, and mixed mode operation (automatic switching between both). The DR482/A operates in analogue FM mode only. The choice between models depends on the existing radio infrastructure and the communication requirements of the vessel or facility.
Yes. The DR482 was developed for both land and maritime applications, making it suitable for use on commercial vessels, offshore platforms, and port facilities requiring robust and reliable UHF communication systems.
The DR482 features an integrated lead-acid battery charger. In the event of AC power failure, the system automatically switches to the 12V backup battery, ensuring communication continuity. Battery charging is suspended during transmission to optimize performance.
Yes. The DR482 comes with a simple and intuitive Windows programming application that allows operators to transfer configurations sent by the dealer, apply firmware updates, and add new features without sending the unit back for reprogramming.
The DR482 offers three mounting options: desk, 19″ rack (two repeaters side by side on a 3U rack tray), and wall mount using the optional wall mounting kit (DR/WMK). This versatility facilitates installation in different radio room configurations and onboard environments.
